Directions
- Prepare the Ingredients:
- Gather cooked and cooled rice (leftover rice works best).
- Chop any vegetables you want to include, such as carrots, peas, bell peppers, or green onions.
- Beat a few eggs if you're adding them to the dish.
- Prepare your choice of protein (e.g., cooked chicken, shrimp, tofu, or pork).
- Measure out soy sauce, sesame oil, and any additional seasonings you prefer.
- Cook the Eggs: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, add a bit of oil, and scramble the eggs. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
- Sauté the Vegetables: Add a bit more oil to the skillet, then sauté the vegetables until tender.
- Add the Rice: Push the vegetables to one side of the pan and add the rice. Stir the rice frequently to prevent sticking and ensure it's evenly heated.
- Mix in Soy Sauce and Sesame Oil: Drizzle the soy sauce and sesame oil over the rice and mix well to distribute the flavors.
- Add Protein and Eggs: Stir in the cooked protein and scrambled eggs. Mix everything until well combined and heated through.
- Serve: Serve hot and garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
