FoodMesh
Our commitment to reducing food waste
It is estimated that 58% of all food produced in Canada is wasted - 84% of which occurs along the supply chain.
IGA Stores of BC is committed to ensuring that none of our unsalable edible food ends up in landfills. We have partnered with FoodMesh to help us divert surplus food from our stores to local charitable organizations, to be used for meals.
Track the impact of our food donations
Since April 2020, we have donated 1,500,000 meals, supported 177 local charities and helped 26 farmers.
